Of all the challenges we face, the “Post-Fact Era” maybe the most dangerous. Nothing is quite so tangibly close to Orwellian Double-Speak as was watching the Democratic and Republican 2016 Presidential Candidates and their talking head supporters lie over and over about what email was hacked or what fallacy was stated as fact.
While its not to downplay the disreputableness of the Clinton Cabal nor the spin of the Democratic funded echo chamber; the explicit spreading of fake-news by the incoming Drumpf administration plagues our current public discourse and will require analysis and scrutiny not necessitated before.
This is not just an alt-Nazi issue either. In times of difficulty it is easy to seek easy reprieve, and it is with that in mind that we appeal to Greens to also not fall for fake-liberal news either. Listed below is a collection (albeit not comprehensive), of news sources that have solid accuracy ratings and make strives to recognize and correct mistakes that they do make. There are also Kansas-specific news sources listed.
While all news entities will get things wrong at times, some do actually try to get it right, even if imperfect. The people themselves will have to become informed and make sure to support news agencies that strive to do this properly. If we the people do not begin taking the time to properly inform ourselves we may soon find ourselves in a time when we no longer have factual information to choose to ignore.
